SmartSampling [Sandia National Laboratories]

The Rocky Flats Environmental Technology Site contracted the SmartSampling project to perform a preliminary evaluation of the spatial distribution of contamination at the 903 pad site. The purpose of the evaluation was to compare and contrast the use of SmartSampling against the site’s baseline technology and to estimate the potential cost-savings that could accrue to the site through the deployment of SmartSampling. The results, Preliminary Assessment of Remediation Decision Options, 903 Pad Site, Rocky Flats, Colorado were presented in November, 1999.

Currently, the site has submitted a new scope of work for SmartSampling involvement in the preparation of RFETS' Industrial Area Sampling and Analysis Plan.
